Who are the founders?
Amata was created by three serial entrepreneurs including Ludovic Huraux. Ludovic built one of the largest dating platforms in France back in 2007, generating more than one wedding every day. He is also an early investor in Hugging Face, one of the largest AI companies in the world.
What's the difference between the Amata app and this program?
The Amata Blind Dates program is a different experience entirely. While the Amata app is already more curated than anything else on the market, this program goes further — a fully blind format, a more personalized matching process, and a new AI system built specifically around deeper compatibility signals. Think of it as Amata's most premium offering, designed for people who are ready to fully trust the process.
Where are the dates organized?
We handpick bars across New York City that are warm, intimate, and conducive to real conversation. All venues serve both alcoholic and soft drinks, so you're comfortable whatever your preference. Every spot is vetted by our team, and we always make sure the venue works for both of you geographically. You'll receive the name and address the evening before your date, along with your match's first name and a compatibility note.
Why is it not free?
Because skin in the game changes everything. When both you and your match have paid for the program, you both show up — physically and emotionally. Free dating apps create a low-stakes environment where ghosting, last-minute cancellations, and half-hearted effort are the norm. Amata Blind Dates is built on the opposite principle: commitment from day one, on both sides of the table. The fee is also what allows us to curate the community, promote the program, and guarantee the quality of your experience. For context, a traditional matchmaker offering a similar service would charge upwards of $6,000. We built Amata to make that level of matchmaking accessible to everyone.
Why don't I get to see who I'm meeting?
Because photos are where most of bad decisions happen in online dating. People decline matches they'd have loved in real life, because a photo didn't match their imagined "type." Removing that variable is the whole point. And no worries, your AI matchmaker will take into account your physical preferences among many other criteria determining your real compatibility for a meaningful relationship.
What if I'm just not attracted to the person?
That's exactly the data your AI matchmaker needs. Tell it everything in the debrief — what you felt, what you noticed, what surprised you. Every piece of honest feedback calibrates the next match. The debrief is not just a courtesy — it's the engine of the whole program.
How can you make sure the matching is good enough?
Our AI was trained on thousands of dates and date debriefs organized through the Amata app. If your compatibility score is below 75% for a scheduled date, we'll skip that week and rematch you the following one — you'll be notified at least 24 hours in advance. This will be rare: Amata Blind Dates is an exclusive program and we only open new spots when we can guarantee the quality of your matches.
How does the guarantee actually work?
Complete at least 5 of your 6 scheduled dates. If none of them result in both people wanting a second date, Amata continues organizing blind dates for you at no charge — up to 12 total. A "mutual spark" means you both shared you want to meet again in your post-date debrief.
What happens if I need to cancel a date?
Life happens. Cancel with more than 24 hours' notice and we'll reschedule your match — you can do this three times during the program. Cancel with less than 24 hours, and that date is forfeited. If you no-show without any notice, you're removed from the program. These rules exist to protect the person waiting for you at the table.
How do you ensure that the blind dates are safe?
Feeling a little nervous before a blind date is completely normal. Amata has been carefully designed so you feel comfortable and safe from the very first date. Here's how we make that happen:
· All members are screened and manually verified by our moderation team before joining the program
· Dates take place in safe, welcoming venues where staff ensures everything runs smoothly
· Accounts of members who don't show up are banned from the program
· Both you and your match pay upfront for the program, ensuring everyone is genuinely committed to showing up
· Date debriefs are automatically reviewed to make sure everything went well and flag any concerns
· A dedicated support team available at any time and quick to respond
Is the Amata Blind Dates Program available outside New York?
